Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.
The Bible tells us that God’s wrath builds up over time. God will pour out His full wrath in His final judgment. However, Paul also explained God’s wrath in the present tense: “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness.” Because the world has rejected God, humanity’s self-inflicted downward slide leads away from God and toward sin’s consequences, not only in the future but in the present.
Properly understanding God’s present and coming wrath invites people to seek God now. One day all who face God apart from Christ’s righteousness will stand condemned. In Romans, Paul offers the gospel as the solution to God’s wrath. Slow to anger, God does not explode in petulant temper but expresses righteous, measured fury in appropriate response to sin’s offense. (Inspired by BSF’s Study of Romans)
