The truth of humanity’s sinful state is no one is righteous before God. Without God’s intervention, we are doomed and face a tragic future – accountable to God and guilty before Him. Human effort futilely attempts to bridge the gap between sin and our holy God. Most people fail to recognize the eternal danger they are in apart from Christ.

Sin creates a huge chasm between you and God. May we consciously seek God with a deep understanding of the gravity of our sin. There are things keeping us from facing the truth about all the ways our thoughts, words, and actions that do not meet God’s righteous standards. What are they? When God’s Spirit leads us to face our sinfulness, acknowledge specific sin, and confess that sin with a repentant heart, let’s obey Him. God wants us to face the truth about our own sinfulness and to repent, seek Christ, and surrender to Him. (Inspired by BSF’s Study of Romans)
