Thoughts on Today’s Reading

Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.

The faithfulness of God means God is unchanging in His nature, true to His Word, has promised salvation to His people, and will keep His promises forever. He is worthy of eternal trust no matter how unlikely His promises seem. Nothing in heaven or on earth can prevent God from accomplishing all that He has promised His people through Jesus Christ. This reliability of God should be a great source of comfort and strength for God’s people as they repeatedly fail and go through trials and suffering.

And our faithful God has called us into the fellowship of Jesus Christ our Lord. God’s promises for us are realized and fulfilled by establishing us in Christ and anointing us by putting His Spirit in our hearts as a pledge of what God has promised us. The faithful God positions us in the fellowship with His Son, in whom all riches and fullness of God dwell. The Spirit given to us guarantees all God promises to us in Christ will be our portions and inheritance in spite of our frequent failures.
