Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and salvation from Christ to you.
True believers who live a humble, sacrificial, God-first life possesses enduring joy, even amid life’s struggles. For them, enduring joy is rooted in a relationship with God that transcends changing circumstances. This profound sense of peace and happiness comes from the promise of eternal hope, the presence of the Holy Spirit and the believers’ surrender. By surrendering control to a higher purpose, believers experience the relief and contentment that comes from trusting God’s overarching plan.
Believers focus on eternal life and salvation through Jesus, and that minimizes the weight of present struggles. When they suffer from persecution, they have the grace to carry the cross of faith and to embrace holy, eternal vision. Persecution comes with belief and indicates that the believer is progressing along God’s righteous path. Hardship and suffering are never easy. However, any loss on earth for Christ’s sake is worth the eternal gain.
