Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.
In the Bible, the fundamental principle that bridges the gap between a seemingly transcendent God and humanity is the person of Jesus Christ. Through Him, God becomes intimately accessible, whereas outside of this connection, God is the ultimate, and distant. With the person and work of Jesus, God’s Son, we may live with stabilizing and essential truth of who He is. Our own sinfulness and the world’s brokenness exist without any hope beyond frail and failing human solutions. Jesus’s incarnation and sacrificial death, deliver us from the cycles of sin and despair.
Jesus Christ is not one choice among many possible solutions to the world’s biggest problem. In fact, only Jesus can solve humanity’s crisis of sin and society’s brokenness. God Himself has orchestrated His plan for the world and eternity through His Son – humanity’s Savior. God calls His people to enthrone Jesus in their hearts and lives. We await the day our Savior descends again to earth and rightfully assumes the kingship that has been His all along. Let’s give Jesus the King the preeminent place of our hearts. Let’s surrender to and worship Him today!
