Thoughts on Today’s Reading

Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.

While God wants to restore us in worship and commitment, He reminds us of the cleansing we need that only He could provide. Sin has so corrupted humanity that we can only offer God brokenness. However, God made a way to cleanse us from sin and empower us to live a fruitful life for His glory. When we trust Jesus for salvation, God replaces our sin-stained garments, clothing us with Christ’s perfect righteousness. The Holy Spirit provides us, the believers of Jesus Christ, the power to triumph over sin. And the Holy Spirit fills us with God’s power to do His work.

We believers can stand confidently before God, not in our own worthiness but in Christ alone. We hold visions pointing to Christ and fix our gaze on Him alone. God’s work would not be accomplished by our efforts but by His Spirit. When God accomplishes what we cannot, all the glory is His. We don’t fight battles against our flesh or sin in our own strength. Let’s allow God to lead us to trust Him for cleansing us with the precious blood of His Son and filling us with His grace and power. The Lord says, “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit.” God does great things through ordinary people like us who are filled with His Spirit. Glory to God!
