And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and to carefully observe My ordinance — Ezekiel 36:27

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

— Acts 1:8

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

— Romans 12:2

He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Thoughts on Today’s Reading

Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.

The Holy Spirit does amazing things in and through believers. The Holy Spirit unlocks the wonder of Scripture, reveals our sin, empowers our obedience, guides our prayers, and renews our minds. The Spirit fuels our boldness to witness for Christ, deny our sinful appetites, and love God. The Spirit glorifies God, exalts Christ, and leads God’s people to do the same. God provides everything His people need as He faithfully accomplishes His eternal plan. The Spirit leads our thought life, daily choices, and conversations that cause us to continually depend on His power and living speaking.

In deeper and more unseen way, Holy Spirit transforms believers by indwelling them, sanctifying their character to be more like Jesus, and by empowering them with spiritual gifts for service. He provides wisdom, reveals truth, comforts, and guides, while producing fruit like love and joy. The Spirit also convicts of sin, unites believers to Christ, and acts as a guarantee of eternal life. Hallelujah! The Holy Spirit indeed is gracious, great and powerful Helper, Advocate, and Comforter of God’s children to perfect and make them presentable to God.
