Thoughts on Today’s Reading

Grace, peace and joy to you from Jesus Christ.

The one and only requirement for salvation is faith in Christ. Salvation is the product of faith alone. Faith in Christ is the essential, metaphorical “foundation” on which that salvation rests. Faith in Christ is so crucial that there are more than 160 verses in the New Testament showing faith, or belief, in Jesus Christ as the only prerequisite for salvation.

The jailer in Acts 16 said to Paul and Silas, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Jesus, Son of God, Himself said whoever believes has eternal life. Unless people believe that Jesus is the I Am, they will die in their sins. Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Jesus Christ will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Jesus Christ will never die. The Apostle John concluded the accounts of the signs that Jesus performed this way—But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.
