My word that proceeds from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it.
— Isaiah 55:11
God is not a man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?
— Numbers 23:19
Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
— Proverbs 30:5
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
17 so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.— 2 Timothy 3:16-17
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
— Hebrews 4:12
Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and salvation from Christ to you.
We all can open God’s Word to study and apply what we learn in powerful and practical ways n our daily life. God gave us His Word, revealing Himself and everything He knows that we need to know. We seldom adequately marvel at this profound privilege. Through God’s Word, we understand something of God’s nature, character, and sovereign plan for human history. We learn how sin sabotaged humanity and how God sacrificed His Son to redeem what sin had stolen.
The Bible teaches us that history is moving on the course God has designed toward a final victory He will accomplish. The Bible, revealing and standing on God-generated, never-changing and life-giving eternal truth, is fully trustworthy and without error in its original documents. And God gives His Spirit to live within us believers, illuminating our minds to understand and believe His truth. By the Spirit’s power, Scripture pierces the human heart, unmasking our sinfulness and need for God. It offers hope and stability to us. The Bible is truly a treasure book given by God to us.
