Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and salvation from Christ to you.
God’s name is hallowed, holy, and set apart from us in every way. The Lord God Almighty’s holiness impacts the way His people live. Therefore when we declare God as holy, we seek to live our lives unto Him. Our sovereign God would act in response to His people’s rebellion but not primarily for their benefit, but for the sake of His holy name that His people Israel profaned among the nations. God would uphold His glory and prove Himself holy so the nations would know He is God.
God does amazing things for His people. The salvation for which Christ died shows His compassion for helpless sinners. He answers prayers and orchestrates circumstances to call us to Himself. Yet, the ultimate force behind everything God does is His glory. God is glorified through the exaltation of His Son, who laid aside heaven’s splendor to save us. God’s glory represents our worthy calling to know God, enjoy Him, and glorify Him especially when we yield ourselves to His compassionate care.
