Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.
Learning to access God’s promise in the Word of God is more exciting than we can imagine. God’s Word is so alive, and through faith, it is able to accomplish anything God desires. John 15:7, another truth should land deep in our hearts, says, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” The word abide is the condition to receive God’s promises. The word abide means “to remain stable or fixed in a state.” That means if we remained constant in our relationship with the Lord, seeking His will and giving Him first place, then we are abiding in Him.
And if we remain close to the Lord and His Word, then our desires would align with His desire for us. From that position, we could ask with confidence for something He already wanted for us, and according to His Word, we would receive it. The more we read the Bible, the more our faith grew. And Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance (realization) of things hoped for, the evidence (confidence) of things not seen.” The word realization means it’s real to us though not yet seen. Substance indicates weight and form- something real that God promises to us for His glory.
