Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.
God’s children’s gratitude and worship to God should overflow because they are highly favored and greatly blessed. Gratitude and praise for God fill the soundtrack of life on the way to heaven. The writer of Hebrews said, “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.” We need not wait for everything to go our way, for goals to be met, bills to be paid, or happiness to be achieved before we whisper our thanks to God. Believers can be thankful in all things now. We are in Christ and will dwell with Him for eternity.
Whether you prefer to worship with the volume at maximum or silently with tears on your cheeks, worship is due to our great God every moment. We no longer need to wait when thanking and praising God. Though God is unseen today, one day we will worship with no desire to ever take our eyes off His face. The certainty of the new heaven and new earth gives us believers strength for today and hope for eternity.
