3 And there will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His slaves will serve Him;
4 and they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.
5 And there will no longer be any night, and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them, and they will reign forever and ever.— Revelation 22:3-5
9 And they sang a new song, saying,
“Worthy are You to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain and purchased for God with Your blood people from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
10 And You made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign upon the earth.”— Revelation 5:9-10
“Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”
— Revelation 4:11
Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.
In Revelation 22, a final burst of light captures the whole scene. John declares that there will be no more night. The constant presence of the Lord God Himself illuminates His people and city. God will live within the community of His people in this setting of vigorous, eternally renewed life. God’s people will have full access to Him and reign forever and ever with Him.
God fulfills His promise and the song of the elders to the Lamb: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” God’s people will live with Him in eternal glory!
