Then He said to me, “They are done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.
— Revelation 21:6
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost!”
— Isaiah 55:1
37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”

for the Lamb at the center of the throne will shepherd them and will guide them to springs of the water of life. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.
The vast sweep of history and every detail of each life rest in God’s hands. Nothing is random or arbitrary. Revelation reveals the sovereign Lord as the one who controls all things. Neither Satan nor Roman emperors, nor illness, nor enemies can thwart Almighty God. All things serve God’s purposes and cannot withstand His sovereign power.
God proclaims another great promise fulfilled: “To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.” God satisfies the thirst of those who come to Him. The prophet Isaiah called, “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!” On a Feast of Tabernacle, Jesus invited the crowds, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” Jesus, the Lamb, leads those who come out of the tribulation “to springs of living water” as their faithful shepherd.
