Grace, mercy and salvation from Christ to you.

John recorded in Revelation 19 that he heard a sound like the roar of a great multitude in heaven, shouting: “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God! For His judgments are true and just. He has judged the great prostitute [Babylon] who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the blood of His servants.” The multitude’s shouts in heaven praise God because He is just, He has judges “the prostitute”, and He has avenged the blood of the martyrs.

The word “salvation” here refers to God’s saving victory on behalf of His people. In His great salvation, God demonstrates the perfections of His character—His glory, His justice, and the brilliant splendor of His goodness. With His sovereign power that controls history, God justly condemns Babylon. God had exercised great patience toward Babylon , who refused to repent. Now He judges the wicked city that murdered His people and corrupted the earth. God stops Babylon, vindicates His people and avenges every injustice Babylon committed. Hallelujah! When God judges Babylon, all heaven rightly rejoices in the triumph of God’s perfect justice.
