For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”
— Acts 17:31
1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom
8 From now on there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but to all who crave His appearing.— 2 Timothy 4:1, 8
1 After this I heard a sound like the roar of a great multitude in heaven, shouting: “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God!
2 For His judgments are true and just. He has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the blood of His servants that was poured out by her hand.”
11 Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war.— Revelation 19:1-2; 11
Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and salvation from Christ to you.
John says in Revelation 19:11, “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a shite horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and wages war.” It tells us that Jesus Christ will return to the earth to judge righteously. While human justice appeals to us, God’s perfectly righteous wrath against evil is truly praise worthy. God’s anger against sin is never arbitrary but always expresses His righteousness. We worship a God who will justly judge every evil empire and avenge the blood of His martyrs. For now, we await God’s justice that will forcefully destroyed all that stand against Him.
Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, will return to end all sin and rebellion against God. Jesus absorbed God’s wrath on the cross on behalf of everyone who believes in Him for salvation. Jesus will return to conquer His enemies and claim His people as His bride. The truth about God’s righteous judgment compels believers to not only share the gospel but also to praise God for His perfect righteousness and justice. Let’s look up and worship and praise God and His Son Jesus!
