1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.— Romans 8:1-2; 34-39
Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.
It’s a great comfort that we don’t have to be overwhelmed by life‘s challenges because God‘s love is our strength. Paul’s declaration in Romans is a call for us to live to embrace the fullness of God‘s love and to shape every part of our lives. Imagine living each day with the confidence that we are deeply loved, fully accepted and eternally secure in God‘s hands! This is the freedom, the peace, and the joy that come from knowing God‘s unbreakable love.
There is no condemnation to those who are in Jesus Christ. God’s love, His Son Jesus Christ’s death to sin and the law of the Spirit of life has freed us. We are freed from the law of sin and death and will practice minding the things of the Spirit to have life and peace. We are never alone. God‘s love is the most powerful force in the universe, and it’s available to each and every one of us all the time.
