16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper to be with you forever

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.

— John 14:16, 26

However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth.

— John 16:13a

32 He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

37 … in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

— Romans 8:32, 35, 37, 39

Thoughts on Today’s Reading

Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.

The Holy Spirit truly is our greatest Helper. With the Spirit’s presence, we can face any challenge with the confidence that God is with us, that He is for us, and that He is working all things for our ultimate good. We have the power of God and the comfort of His presence of the assurance of His love with us. Paul closes Romans 8 with a crescendo of faith and hope. He proclaims one of the most comforting and powerful truths in all of the Scripture — the unbreakable, unconditional love of God for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Paul’s words in this passage are deeply personal, brimming with the confidence of a man who has experienced God‘s love first hand. He declares that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation would be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
