1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh,

4 so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Paul’s struggle against law and sin reminds us that perfection isn’t the goal. Relationship is. And as we deepen our relationship with God, the power of sin loses its hold. We begin to experience true freedom. Have you been carrying the weight of your own struggles, feeling defeated by the things you can’t seem to overcome? Paul reminds us to release that burden and place it in God‘s hands through Jesus. You are forgiven, loved and empowered to live in victory because you are in union with Jesus Christ in His death and resurrection.

Paul offers a profound answer in Romans 8, the Holy Spirit. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. The verse passage doesn’t just mark a transition in Paul’s message, it opens the door to an entirely new way of life, life in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not an abstract concept or a distant helper. He is the very presence of God dwelling within us, guiding us, comforting us and empowering us to live in freedom.
