1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Thoughts on Today’s Reading

Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.

Let’s learn to surrender to the Holy Spirit, a lovely person. Look at the early church. See in the early church. There wasn’t a charismatic camp or a conservative camp. There was just desperate believers. Men and women were filled with fire, led by the spirit grounded in God’s words and devoted to holiness. There was no time to debate theology when persecution was at the door. There was no room to reject the Spiritual gifts when miracles meant survival. They desperately needed the Spirit and they knew it.

And today we need Him just as much, but needing Him isn’t the same as walking with Him. Walking with the Spirit means we don’t just acknowledge His presence, we submit to His leading. It means we don’t chase emotional highs but pursue Jesus. It means we don’t elevate one gift and ignore others. We steward everything He gives from tongues to teaching, healing, hospitality. It means we hold scripture as our compass because the Spirit of God will never contradict the words of God.
