12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.
13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.— Romans 8:12-14
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.
27 And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.— Romans 8:26-27
… we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh
— Philippians 3:3
But you, beloved, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit
— Jude 1:20
Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.
The Spirit isn’t hiding. He is guiding. But He won’t compete with our noise. Maybe it’s time to turn down the volume of the world so we can tune into the Spirit’s voice. That’s always been there. The Spirit doesn’t just want to get us through life. He wants to lead you into truth, into freedom, and into purpose. As we move into our journey, let’s ask a deeper question, not just what He says, but what He empowers because the Spirit doesn’t only whisper directions in our ears, He gives us power to walk them out.
The Holy Spirit doesn’t just guide us; He empowers us. He doesn’t just whisper; He ignites. He doesn’t only lead us to the edge; He gives us wings to leap. If we have been walking through life, trying to figure it out, pushing with our own strength, and grinding our way through every decision and every day. The truth is that we’d better never do it alone. Within us, the life-giving Spirit equips leads, empowers us and makes sure that we walk on His way triumphantly. Hallelujah!
