Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.
In the matter of subjectively experiencing the Holy Spirit, we are not in the first chapter but we definitely are part of the climax. The Old Testament prophets prophesied and longed for the Holy Spirit and the kings tasted in flashes. We host daily the same Spirit who made ordinary men into deliveries and leaders. He is now alive in us, not for a moment, but for a life time. It means our story isn’t too small for the Spirit to use. We don’t need a title or a permission from man; we only need the breath of God, the Spirit, who took David from the field, Samson from despair, Elijah from burnout, Bezelel from obscurity.
The Spirit is still at work, looking for hearts to fill. He empowers vessels to carry His glory. The Spirit was always engaging and today He is still moving, but the difference is now He is moving through us. The Spirit who moved on men has begun to dwell in them. This matter is like that the heaven comes down and takes up residence of us! Are we available for Him to manifest Himself in us? Do we welcome the Holy Spirit to be the person, besides the power we desire, for us?
