And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.

— Romans 5:5

14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption to sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

— Romans 8:14-16

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

— 2 Timothy 1:7

13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.

14 He will glorify Me by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you.

— John 16:13-14

Thoughts on Today’s Reading

Grace, mercy and love from Christ to you.

Many of us have heard about the Holy Spirit, but we don’t actually know or experience Him. We believe in the doctrine, but have never entered an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. We have seen a move of God, but never experienced communion with Him. He desires to have communion with us who are searching for clarity, purpose, and power of the Holy Spirit. We maybe are burned out, anxious, and addicted to distractions trying to muscle our way through spiritual battles with fleshly strength but we still feel dry.

Have we partnered with the One who was sent to help? Are we praying for strength when God already gave us the Spirit? The question isn’t where is God. But are we walking with the One He already gave us? We are not abandoned without divine help. We need to know when we put our faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit isn’t just beside us, He’s within us. He’s already here, but have we truly made space for Him or have we been living like He is just a doctrine on a page?
