But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When He was hung on the cross, He took upon Himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and salvation from Christ to you.
Without Jesus as our substitute, we will bear the weight of our own sin. No humans has the will or capacity to rightly satisfy God’s requirement of untainted holiness. Without Jesus as our substitute, life on earth lacks purpose and eternity will bring only judgment. No human can be good enough to meet God’s requirements.
Jesus’s willing sacrifice as the unblemished substitute for sinners defies human understanding, and leads believers to inexpressible wonder and worship. Knowing that Jesus tool our sin and gave us His righteousness changes everything. Only God’s matchless mercy, infinite grace and unconditional love can explain this. The innocent Savior was declared guilty so the Quilty ones might be declared forgiven. Jesus rose from death’s grave, bringing victory over death and sin. May we confidently live differently today and face eternity with humble hearts in grateful surrender.
