Thoughts on Today’s Reading

Jesus said to the souls of people, “I am a good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. Come! Follow Me. I am the way, the truth, and the life. Enter through the narrow gate for wide is the gate that leads to destruction but small is the gate that leads to life and only if you find it. No one comes to the Father except through Me. I tell you the truth. A time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.”

1 Peter 2:24-25 says of Jesus, that “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed. For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. Let’s review what Moses proclaimed to Israelites in the wilderness — “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” Let’s hear Jesus’s voice and live! Let’s soften our hearts to surrender to and follow Him. He laid down His life for saving us. He will Shepherd us today and forever.
