Thoughts on Today’s Reading

May the Lord bless you with His everlasting love and peace.

After John heard the shout of praise rising from the great multitude of the redeemed, all heaven joined to worship God. Heaven’s angels, the elders and the 4 living creatures fall face down and worship God. Their praises begins with “Amen,”meaning “let it be so!” They wholeheartedly agree with the praise offered by those the Lamb had saved. They worshiped, saying “blessing, glory, wisdom, thanks, honor, power and strength be to Our God forever and ever! Amen.” These qualities combine to exalt the invincible Redeemer and the victory won by His sacrificial death. God’s character and Christ’s sacrifice secure God’s people today and eternally.

The Greek word for “worship” conveys the idea of service, meaning any service of ministry offered to God. When the redeemed, the angels, the 24 elders and 4 living creatures’ concert of praise takes place in the heavenly, it is their service, rooted in the most essential response of all —worship— to God. Acts of service rooted in worship become an offering of praise to God. While walking on earth, We, God’s people, find needed peace, joy, courage and energy for our responsibilities and relationships through a habit of praising and worshiping God. Therefore let us raise our voice to worship God in all situations!
