Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and salvation from the Lord Jesus to you.
God is sovereign. With eternal wisdom and an intentional plan, He controls everything. The past, present, and future ret within His purposeful grip. God is able and free to accomplish everything He wills. God is sovereign in calling people to salvation and awakening dead hearts to seek Him. God’s flawless character allows us to trust and find comfort in His unlimited power and control. The descriptions and warnings in the book of Revelation about future events issue a clear call for people to turn to Christ for salvation. With divinely measured precision, God will enact judgment on the world and deliver His people to their eternal home.
Many people reject or restrict the concept of God’s sovereignty to fit their own limited understanding. Rejecting God as sovereign reveals a desire for personal sovereignty and control that denies reality. We human beings cannot control even our next heartbeat or breath. At the end of human history, no one will be able to doubt that God rules and reigns over everyone and everything He has created. Let’s rest in God’s sovereignty and gain peace and comfort in this chaotic world. God knows what we do not and controls what we cannot. He always accomplishes what He desires, which is always best. Let’s entrust everything to God, who rules the universe with infinite wisdom and precise timing. Amen! God rules and cares!
