Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace and mercy from Jesus the Lord to you.
God is a promise keeper. Even if you are unfaithful to Christ, He will remain faithful to you forever. He cannot break His promises. God cannot lie, therefore we should hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering. God is faithful to fulfill all His salvation pledges to us believers. He protects all who have taken refuge in Him. Our hope is so sure that we have an anchor-for-the-soul. It is like an anchor fastened to solid rock. The hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil. Besides, God Himself only is our rock and salvation, and our stronghold. We shall not be shaken.
God’s promises are also written down by His apostles. 1 John 5:13 says, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.” We are eternally secure because the Bible says so. Without arrogance, we can truly know we are safe and secure in Christ because God’s Word says so!
