Thoughts on Today’s Reading

Grace, peace and joy to you from Jesus the Lord.

What immense mercy and grace of God that He saves us and keeps us saved. It is not our wok at all. Revelation &;10 says, “Salvation [belongs] to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” We do not save ourselves. It is God’s job. God, the author of our salvation says salvation is everlasting. Hebrews 5:9 tells us Jesus became the author of eternal salvation. Isaiah 51:6 also says the Lord’s salvation will be forever. Since salvation is God’s work, the only way a believer could ever lose their salvation would be if God somehow failed. But God will not fail. The apostle Paul told us that he was confident that He who began a good work in believers will perfect is until the day of Christ Jesus.

The Bible teaches that God’s protection keeps believers safe and secure all the way through to eternity. God said in Hebrews 13:5, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you. He also promised, “I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.” He is able to save forever those who draw near to Him because He always lives to make intercession for them. In His mercy, God Himself preserves and maintains our salvation completely apart from our good works. Our salvation is secure based on God’s promises, not on our successes or failures. Praise the Lord! God’s Word in the Bible is the final authority on the matter of the security of our salvation.
