Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy and peace to you from Jesus the Lord.
The Lord Jesus Christ commanded us to go into the world and preach the Gospel to all creation. He also commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations and teach them to observe all that He has commanded us. In Acts 1:8, just before returning to heaven, Jesus added, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and even to the remotest part of the earth. Because it is a matter of life and death, let’s make sure we are accurate and precise in teaching others the good news that Christ died for their sins and rose again on the third day for their eternal salvation.
The apostle Paul is our pattern in witnessing Christ. Committed to what Jesus Christ commanded His followers to do, Paul took up the burden of preaching and teaching the true gospel to many peoples and nations. He said he had the obligation to preach gospel to both Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. He boldly testified how he rightly handled the word of truth, how he was ready, in season and out of season, to preach the authentic gospel truths, to teach the word, to reprove, rebuke and exhort people for bringing the salvation of Jesus Christ to them. May we be drawn to study God’s words thoroughly, present ourselves to God as an approved worker by handling His words rightly, and go to share the accurate gospel of salvation clearly to the world.
