Thoughts on Today’s Reading

Grace and steadfast love from Christ to you!

Having witnessed Jesus miraculously transformed five loaves and two fish into an abundant meal, many people wanted more of the same. Jesus and His disciples departed because He knew the gathering crowd wanted to make Him king. He knew the thoughts and hearts of the persistent crowd. He would continue to unveil His divine authority and power because He came to seek and serve lost people. Jesus, the rightful King, ultimate Prophet and promised Messiah remained on course to accomplish God’s plan. His unstopped purposes lovingly reach toward needy and broken people.

The crowd wanted free food, physical healing and political freedom. Few desired the spiritual satisfaction only Jesus could give. He is the Messiah who provides spiritual food that will not spoiled. Everlasting nourishment for the heart and soul resides in God Himself, who alone offers that will endure to eternal life. Nothing this world offers compared to the abundant life Jesus gives. Anyone who fails to accept Jesus remains eternally lost and spiritually hungry. To work for food that endures means to wholeheartedly seek Jesus. Jesus is to be the center of all our affection, activity, and effort. Let=E2=80=99s seek first Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life.
