Thoughts on Today’s Reading
May you enjoy the living water of Jesus Lord, the Savior!
We can testify from the bottom of heart that ordinary water cannot permanently satisfy. Earthly pleasure can only temporarily quench thirst and emptiness soon returns. Our life tends to swing between pursuits and disappointments and that easily leaves us emotionally thirsty and continually unsatisfied. Without God, earthly gifts and achievements come up empty.
Jesus’ invitation for people to come to Him to drink the living water that only He can give still reaches us because He wants to meet our deepest inmost needs. Through faith, we find true love, peace, joy, and meaning. Jesus satisfies our soul’s deepest thirst immediately and eternally. We will find that God’s gift of living water produces profound contentment and peace in Jesus Christ no matter what life brings. As we trust Him, we gain unshakable confidence in His wise and loving purposes, even in our darkest hour.
