Thoughts on Today’s Reading

The Lord be with your spirit and grace to you!

Seeking out God‘s fatherly guidance in making significant decisions is the beginning of wisdom. As our lives unfold, there are no Bible verses that will give us specific answers to all our questions. However we can often gain insight and wisdom from relevant biblical precepts and promises. Humility of heart and reverence for God are essential if we want God to guide us.

God instructs and teaches us in a variety of ways through His words and His Spirit. He also counsels us with His eye on us. It indicates a more personal level of guidance. This is not a mechanical process of studying the Bible as a book of rules, regulations and procedures then coming up with the right answers. Rather God will personally guide and direct us through the Holy Spirit, opening our understanding to the meaning and application of His words to the situations we face and the circumstances of our lives. Amen!
