“27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.”— Genesis 1:27-28
“9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,
10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.”— Ephesians 1:9-10
“Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:28
Thoughts on Today’s Reading
Grace, mercy, and peace from Jesus Christ to you.
The big plan that this good, loving and all powerful God is working out begins with creation when God created man in His own image, blessed them and made them fruitful and to multiply. In this world in which there was no sin, suffering or death, human beings were invited to live with God and to have dominion over all God’s creation as benevolent stewards.
God’s grand plan ends with the consummation that has made known unto us. The mystery of God’s will according to His good pleasure, which He has purposed in Himself, is that in the dispensation of the fullness of times God might bring all things in heaven and on earth together in Christ. Once all things are subject to Christ, then the Son Himself shall be subject unto God who put all things under Him that God may be all in all. Our glorious and loving God is working out His purpose through Christ.
